This page describes how Keyfren actually works today, in plain language rather than legal language. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

Keyfren is a tool for keeping track of the people you know and staying in touch with them. It is currently an early product offered free of charge.

There is no paid tier at the moment and we do not collect payment details.

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has gotten into your account.

You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live in order to use Keyfren.

One person per account. Do not share logins.

The contacts, notes, and messages you put into Keyfren stay yours. We do not claim ownership of them.

You are responsible for having a legitimate reason to hold information about the people in your contacts, and for following the laws that apply to you when you do.

Do not use Keyfren to send unsolicited bulk messages, to harass anyone, or to break the law.

The software itself, its design, and the Keyfren name and logo belong to us. Using the product does not transfer any of that to you.

We give you a personal licence to use Keyfren for its intended purpose: staying in touch with the people you know. That licence ends if your account does, and it does not let you copy, resell, or build a competing product from what we have made.

If you send us an idea, a bug report, or a suggestion through the feedback form or otherwise, you are giving us permission to use it without owing you anything for it.

You write every message. When you ask Keyfren to polish a draft, it corrects grammar, punctuation, spacing, and tone in the text you already wrote. It will not invent a message for you from nothing, and it never sends anything on its own. Nothing leaves your account until you press send.

That polish runs on fixed rules inside the app rather than a hosted language model, so the words you type are not sent to a third-party AI service to be rewritten.

There is one exception, and we would rather name it than let you discover it: Auto Coordinate. It is off by default and applies to one contact at a time. When you switch it on for a conversation, you are asking Keyfren to handle the back-and-forth of finding a meeting time on your behalf, which means it will send short scheduling replies, proposing times, confirming one, or asking for a clearer answer, without checking with you before each one.

Auto Coordinate is deliberately narrow. It only ever talks about scheduling, it works from fixed templates rather than generated prose, and it stops on its own once a time is agreed, after a small number of proposals, or as soon as a reply is too ambiguous to answer safely. It also stops the moment you send a message yourself, and you can switch it off at any time.

Outside of Auto Coordinate, the rule holds without qualification: the AI drafts, you send.

Keyfren is provided as it is, without warranties. It is early software and it may have bugs, go down, or lose data.

Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export regularly.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the product.

You can stop using Keyfren whenever you like. Settings has a delete button that removes your account and everything in it immediately; you do not have to ask us.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms or to harm other people.

We may change these terms as the product changes. If a change is significant, we will say so rather than quietly swapping the page.

Keyfren operates out of Panama City, Panama, and this agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama. If a disagreement cannot be worked out directly, it will be handled in the courts of Panama City.

If you live somewhere with consumer-protection laws that cannot be signed away by agreement, for example within the EU, choosing Panama law here does not take those protections away from you.
